Barcelona have received mixed injury news after Saturday's win at Atletico Madrid, with Marc Bernal confirmed out for around ten days and Ronald Araujo given the all-clear.
Bernal, who came on as a first-half replacement for Araujo at the Metropolitano, twisted his ankle and was substituted just after the hour mark. Reports from Gerard Romero and Helena Condis confirm the 18-year-old has suffered a sprained left ankle that will keep him sidelined for approximately ten days. He will miss Wednesday's UCL first leg against Atletico at Camp Nou and next weekend's Barcelona derby against Espanyol. He could return in time for the second leg on April 22.
The better news is that Araujo avoided serious injury. The Uruguayan defender felt discomfort in his hamstring during the first half but medical checks have confirmed he did not aggravate the issue. He is available for Wednesday.
The news leaves Flick with Pedri and Marc Casado as his only fit senior central midfielders for the UCL tie. Frenkie de Jong remains sidelined.
