Barcelona have agreed a deal worth up to 80 million euros with Newcastle United to sign England international Anthony Gordon. The Catalan club will pay an initial fee of 70 million euros, with a further 10 million euros in bonuses linked to titles won and the player's level of involvement throughout his contract.
Gordon is set to fly to Barcelona on Thursday to begin his medical, with a five-year contract already agreed in principle. Club president Joan Laporta publicly confirmed the deal on Thursday morning, describing it as being finalised rather than fully completed. Bayern Munich and Liverpool had both shown concrete interest in the England winger during the season, but the La Liga champions moved quickly and decisively to close the deal once they settled on Gordon as their primary summer target.
The 24-year-old was one of the most coveted wide players in the Premier League this season. His arrival is expected to give Hansi Flick a powerful new attacking option as Barcelona look to defend their La Liga title and compete on all fronts in 2026-27.
