Barcelona have completed the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United in a deal worth £69.3 million, rising to £80 million with add-ons. The England winger passed his medical in the Catalan capital on Friday and signed a five-year contract at the Camp Nou.
Gordon, 24, becomes one of Barcelona's most significant summer acquisitions. He finished the 2025-26 Premier League campaign as Newcastle's top scorer with 17 goals and 10 assists, making him one of the most dynamic wide forwards in English football over the past season.
Bayern Munich had tracked Gordon for months and believed they were well placed to sign him, but Barcelona moved swiftly and decisively once they set their sights on the player. Manager Hansi Flick pushed hard for the deal, viewing Gordon as a direct and energetic option to complement Lamine Yamal on the opposite flank. Gordon has spoken of his excitement at lining up alongside Yamal at the Camp Nou.
The transfer was confirmed and the player was presented to the press on Friday evening. Gordon is expected to report for pre-season training in July and will be available for Barcelona from the start of the 2026-27 La Liga campaign.
