Liverpool have formally entered the race to sign Yan Diomande by submitting their first bid to RB Leipzig, with Romano confirming the Reds are the most aggressive suitor for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international. Incoming manager Andoni Iraola has identified Diomande as the club's primary attacking target, viewing him as the long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right flank.

PSG remain in the mix and are keen admirers, but Liverpool's pursuit is described as a top, top priority with the club pushing hard to make it happen. Diomande had a sensational breakout season in the Bundesliga, combining electric pace and directness with an impressive goal and assist return. Leipzig are expected to resist early offers but a deal in the region of the £87m fee widely reported earlier this summer is considered a realistic target for Liverpool.
