The picture around Cody Gakpo's future is muddled. Liverpool.com and Yahoo Sports both reported that Liverpool have "closed the door" on Tottenham's interest, with the club not currently prepared to negotiate an exit and Iraola still planning for next season with the Dutchman involved. Other reports, including from This Is Anfield and TEAMtalk citing Fabrizio Romano, describe Tottenham as still a genuine suitor and Gakpo as a stated "priority" for Spurs, with a fee in the region of £70 million mentioned.
Gakpo signed a new five-year contract at Anfield last year, tying him to the club until 2030, and is reported to only be open to a move within Europe's top five leagues if he were to leave. With Liverpool and Tottenham's own positions seemingly still being worked out internally, nothing appears close to resolution.
