Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with INEOS making fresh direct contact with the player camp on Thursday. The 21-year-old is said to idolise Bruno Fernandes and is extremely keen to link up with the United captain at club level.
West Ham are insisting on a fee north of 90 million euros for the Portuguese international, who only joined the Hammers from Southampton last summer. United face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and several other top clubs, but the Red Devils are considered the clear frontrunners in the race for the midfielder.
