Enzo Maresca is set to return to Manchester City as the clubs new head coach after reaching a verbal agreement on a three-year deal. The Italian departed Chelsea by mutual consent in January 2026 following an 18-month spell in which he led the Blues to Conference League and Club World Cup glory before results in the Premier League faltered.
Maresca previously worked under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad as an assistant coach and was part of the backroom staff during the treble-winning season of 2022-23. Reports indicate he has already begun identifying transfer targets for the summer, with Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea understood to be among his top priorities for the new era.
