The race for Marcus Rashford has taken a decisive turn, with Bayern Munich emerging as the frontrunners after Barcelona showed no signs of triggering their €30m purchase option before it expires on June 15. Fabrizio Romano confirmed this weekend that Bayern made contact with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Rashford, with TEAMtalk reporting the Bavarians are increasingly confident of completing a deal following positive discussions with the player's camp.
Manchester United are holding firm at €30m and will not accept a lower offer or entertain another loan arrangement. Rashford, currently with England at the World Cup, contributed 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances during his loan season at Barcelona. Bayern see him as an ideal wide attacker to strengthen their front line, though Romano noted the club have also been pursuing PSV winger Ismael Saibari as a parallel option.
