Barcelona are offloading Marc Casado to AS Monaco in a deal that is almost over the line, according to Barca Universal. The 22-year-old La Masia graduate struggled for regular starts under Hansi Flick this season, making only 14 starts in 29 appearances, and has made clear his desire to play week-in, week-out at senior level. Monaco are set to pay an initial €18 million with a further €5 million in performance-related bonuses.

Barcelona have negotiated a 20 percent sell-on clause into the agreement, ensuring they retain a future financial interest in the player. The sale will help free up wage bill space ahead of Barcelona's bigger summer targets, including the pursuit of Julian Alvarez and Alessandro Bastoni. Casado had attracted interest from Chelsea, Crystal Palace and several other Premier League clubs, but Monaco moved quickest and are now on the brink of completing the deal.
