Manchester United have taken a major step in their summer rebuild by reaching a full verbal agreement with Atalanta midfielder Ederson. The 26-year-old Brazilian has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with INEOS, who have been tracking the player for over 12 months.

Atalanta had previously priced United out of a deal last summer, but with Ederson entering the final year of his contract the Italian club have accepted a fee of around 48M euros plus add-ons. United are expected to make the move official once medical and paperwork formalities are completed.
