Liverpool are moving to open direct negotiations with PSG over a transfer for Bradley Barcola, according to ESPN and Sky Sports, after the France international turned down a new contract with two years left on his current deal. Liverpool.com reports Liverpool already have an "agreement in principle" with the player himself and are now preparing their first offer to PSG.
The fee remains the key obstacle. Sky Sports reports PSG value Barcola at around £145 million, while other reports suggest the French champions could demand between €150-170 million, against an opening Liverpool bid said to be in excess of €100 million. With Mohamed Salah having left Anfield this summer, Barcola is viewed as a priority replacement on the right side of Liverpool's attack, though Arsenal have also been credited with interest.
