Newcastle United have officially confirmed the signing of Aladji Bamba from AS Monaco on a five-year contract through 2031, in a deal reported by Sky Sports at £35.5 million rising to around €41 million including add-ons. The 20-year-old French midfielder came through Monaco's academy after joining from Blois in 2021, making his first-team debut in August 2025 and going on to make 25 appearances with two assists last season.
Bamba will wear the No. 8 shirt previously worn by Sandro Tonali, who left St James' Park for Tottenham earlier this month. Manager Eddie Howe said the club see "huge potential" in the young Frenchman, who adds further depth to Newcastle's midfield options following a summer of turnover on Tyneside.
