Liverpool have moved quickly to secure one of South America most exciting young talents, agreeing a deal worth around one million dollars for Samuel Martinez. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement, with the 17-year-old Colombian set to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Anfield. Due to Premier League regulations on signing overseas players under the age of 18, Martinez will not officially join until the summer of 2027.

Martinez made a huge impression at the recent South American Under-17 Championship, starting five of Colombia six games and providing three assists including in both the semi-final and the final as his country lifted the title. Liverpool scouts tracked him closely over recent months and moved to secure his signature ahead of interest from other European clubs.
