Tottenham have completed the signing of Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi on a free transfer, with the Argentine having reached a verbal agreement with the north London club before the official announcement. The 26-year-old departs Bournemouth after the club opted not to renew his deal, and becomes the second signing of the Roberto De Zerbi era at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Senesi is a composed and commanding defender who impressed across his time in the Premier League and has long attracted interest from clubs higher up the table. The free transfer represents excellent value from Tottenham as they look to strengthen defensively ahead of a return to European football. De Zerbi is understood to have personally pushed for the deal.
