Ibrahima Konate has agreed terms with Real Madrid on a four-year contract after leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season. The 27-year-old centre-back put offers from Saudi Arabia on hold to pursue a move to the Spanish capital, with a verbal agreement now in place on personal terms.
The move is subject to Florentino Perez retaining the Real Madrid presidency in Sunday election, a result that is widely expected. Sky Sports and ESPN both reported the defender is closing in on the move, with Konate set to partner Antonio Rudiger and provide the defensive quality Madrid lost with the decline of aging squad members.
