Barcelona are finalising an official bid for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Argentina World Cup winner's agent has already informed interested parties that his client is focused on moving to Camp Nou, and talks with Atletico are expected to begin formally in the coming days.
Alvarez, 26, scored 24 goals in all competitions for Atletico this season and has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe since joining from Manchester City. Barcelona are looking for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who left in May after scoring 120 goals in four seasons.
The signing of Anthony Gordon on May 29 gave Flick his first addition of the summer, and Bernardo Silva remains in discussions as the club continues to rebuild ahead of a season that includes the Champions League, La Liga title defence, and the Club World Cup.
