TODAY'S MEETING
Real Madrid, Vinícius Júnior, and his representatives held direct talks at the club's training facilities today. Madrid improved their contract offer, but no final decision was reached. Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports described the meeting as "very positive," with Roc Nation and Madrid's senior management both said to have emerged optimistic, Sky Sports going as far as reporting Vinícius will now stay beyond this window.
Other outlets tell a different story. TEAMtalk and Football365 report the talks actually broke down, with Arsenal now said to have matched Vinícius's wage demands directly with his camp, keeping their move very much alive. No fee or salary number has been confirmed as agreed by either side.
THE INSTAGRAM WIPE
Hours after the meeting, Vinícius deleted his entire Instagram history: every post gone, no profile picture, no bio, wiping years of Real Madrid content from an account with close to 64 million followers. The timing has fueled speculation in both directions. A social media blackout like this is often read as a sign a player is unhappy and heading for an exit, but it's also a tactic some players use right before announcing good news, to build anticipation. Nothing about the wipe itself confirms which one this is.
WHERE THIS LEAVES THINGS
Nothing is officially decided. Vinícius has one year left on his Real Madrid deal, Roc Nation are the ones actually negotiating both the renewal and, reportedly, Arsenal's interest, and today's meeting appears to be a real step without being the resolution some headlines are already claiming.
