1. CRYSTAL PALACE LIFT THE UEFA CONFERENCE LEAGUE

Crystal Palace claimed their first European trophy on Wednesday night, beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the UEFA Conference League final in Leipzig. Jean-Philippe Mateta pounced to convert a rebound after Adam Wharton's shot was parried by goalkeeper Augusto Batalla, and that second-half strike proved enough for Oliver Glasner's side.

It was a nervy evening in Germany. Palace spurned further chances to put the game beyond doubt but held firm in a tense finale. The triumph follows their FA Cup win last season, completing back-to-back major trophies under Glasner, who is reportedly leaving the club after this final.

2. BARCELONA AGREE 80M EURO DEAL FOR ANTHONY GORDON

Barcelona have struck a deal worth up to 80 million euros with Newcastle United to sign England international Anthony Gordon. The base fee is 70 million euros, with a further 10 million euros available in performance-related bonuses linked to titles won and match involvement.

Gordon is due to fly to Barcelona on Thursday for his medical, with a five-year contract ready to be signed. President Joan Laporta confirmed the deal is being finalised, calling it not yet official but essentially done. Bayern Munich and Liverpool had also been tracking the 24-year-old, but Barcelona moved decisively once they identified Gordon as their primary summer target.

3. ANDY ROBERTSON JOINS TOTTENHAM ON A FREE

Fabrizio Romano issued the first here-we-go of the summer transfer window on Thursday, confirming Andy Robertson has agreed terms with Tottenham Hotspur. The Scotland captain leaves Liverpool on a free transfer after nine years at Anfield, during which he won the Premier League, the Champions League, and several other major honours.

Robertson bade an emotional farewell to Anfield last Sunday. Manager Roberto De Zerbi pushed hard to secure the left-back, and a late approach from Juventus was not enough to alter the outcome. The 32-year-old is expected to complete formalities in the coming days.

4. ALEXIA PUTELLAS BIDS FAREWELL TO BARCELONA

Alexia Putellas has officially left FC Barcelona after 14 years, bringing down the curtain on one of the most decorated careers in women's football history. The two-time Ballon d'Or winner made her final appearance on May 27, providing an assist at the Estadi Johan Cruyff before an emotional send-off from the Blaugrana faithful.

Putellas departs with 36 trophies, making her the most decorated player in Barcelona's history, surpassing even Lionel Messi's haul at the club. Her record includes four Women's Champions League titles, ten Liga F crowns, nine Copa de la Reina wins and four Supercopa de Espana. London City Lionesses are understood to be in positive talks over her next move.

5. ARSENAL AND PSG SET FOR BUDAPEST SHOWDOWN

Two days remain until one of the most anticipated Champions League finals in recent memory, as Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday evening.

Arsenal are chasing a historic domestic and European double after clinching their first Premier League title in 22 years. PSG, the defending champions, are bidding to become only the second club to retain the trophy in the Champions League era, after Real Madrid's three consecutive titles between 2016 and 2018. The sides met in last season's semi-finals, with PSG winning 3-1 on aggregate on their way to the 2025 title.
