ENGLAND — FA CUP QUARTER-FINALS

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City thrashed Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad to reach the FA Cup semi-finals. Haaland opened from the spot in the 39th minute after Van Dijk fouled O'Reilly, headed in a second in stoppage time, then crashed in a third off the crossbar after the break. Antoine Semenyo added the fourth. Salah, playing his first game since announcing he will leave Anfield, missed a penalty. City are into the last four for an eighth consecutive season.

Chelsea were equally ruthless, beating League One Port Vale 7-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The shock of the day came at St Mary's. Championship side Southampton beat Arsenal 2-1 to end the Gunners' treble hopes. Ross Stewart fired the hosts in front, Viktor Gyokeres equalised, but substitute Shea Charles won it in the 85th minute. Arsenal have now lost back-to-back cup finals and quarter-finals inside three weeks.

SPAIN — LA LIGA MATCHDAY 30

Barcelona are seven points clear at the top after coming from behind to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at the Metropolitano. Giuliano Simeone opened the scoring but Rashford equalised almost immediately, then Lewandowski bundled in a late winner from a rebound. Nico Gonzalez was sent off just before half-time for a foul on Yamal. Araujo and Bernal both went off injured — a major concern with the UCL quarter-final against the same opponent on Wednesday.

Earlier, Mallorca stunned Real Madrid 2-1 at Son Moix. Morlanes scored against the run of play before half-time, Militao equalised in the 88th on his return from injury, but Muriqi hit a stoppage-time winner to send Mallorca out of the relegation zone. Madrid's gap to Barca is now seven points.

Real Sociedad beat Levante 2-0. Real Betis and Espanyol drew 0-0.

The afternoon produced pure chaos. Bayern Munich were 2-0 down at Freiburg with ten minutes left before Tom Bischof and Lennart Karl rescued a 3-2 win in stoppage time. Bayern stay top.
