INTER MILAN — SERIE A CHAMPIONS 2025-26

Inter Milan are champions of Italy for the 21st time after a commanding 2-0 victory over Parma at the San Siro on Sunday. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time with a composed angled finish from a Piotr Zielinski through ball. Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed it in the 80th minute after a pass from Lautaro Martinez, who came off the bench to mark his return from injury. The Piazza del Duomo filled with fans in blue and black as fireworks lit up the Milan skyline at full time. Inter moved an unassailable 12 points clear of Napoli with three games left. It is their third Scudetto in six years and the first sealed before their own fans at San Siro since 1989. Coach Cristian Chivu, who replaced Simone Inzaghi last summer, won his first senior trophy in his debut season. Lautaro said: "He made sure everyone felt involved and could train with a smile." Inter face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final on May 13, chasing a domestic double.

FC PORTO — PRIMEIRA LIGA CHAMPIONS 2025-26

FC Porto are champions of Portugal for the 31st time after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Alverca at the Estadio do Dragao on Saturday. Jan Bednarek headed home Gabri Veiga's corner in the 40th minute to seal a title that had been building all season. Porto confirmed the championship with two games to spare, ending a four-year wait for the trophy and dethroning two-time defending champions Sporting CP. It is a remarkable achievement for coach Francesco Farioli, the 37-year-old Italian who joined Porto last summer after his Ajax side famously blew the Eredivisie title on the final day. This time there was no collapse — Porto started the season with 16 wins from their first 17 games and never relinquished control. President Andre Villas-Boas said of the appointment: "Farioli deserved to have succeeded at Ajax. That way that championship ended does not invalidate his quality." Nigerian defender Zaidu Sanusi returned from injury to start the decisive match, while Terem Moffi also featured. Porto overcame season-ending cruciate ligament injuries to Samu Aghehowa and Luuk de Jong to win the title — a testament to the squad depth and rotation managed expertly by Farioli all season.

IPSWICH TOWN — PROMOTED BACK TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Ipswich Town confirmed their return to the Premier League on Championship final day on Saturday, bouncing straight back up after just one season in the second tier. They join the Championship playoff final winner — from Millwall, Southampton, Middlesbrough and Hull City — in returning to the top flight next season. The playoff final is at Wembley on May 23.

BAYERN MUNICH — BUNDESLIGA CHAMPIONS (CONFIRMED APRIL 19)

Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions for the 35th time two weeks ago after a 4-2 win over Stuttgart. Harry Kane scored his 32nd league goal of the season. Bayern have won 13 of the last 14 Bundesliga titles and broke the all-time goals record this season with 113 goals.

STILL TO BE DECIDED

Barcelona lead La Liga by 11 points with four games left — El Clasico at Camp Nou on May 10 could be the title party. The Premier League title race between Arsenal (76pts) and City (70pts) remains alive with four games each remaining. Ligue 1 concludes May 17 with PSG expected to defend their title.
