The curtain has come down on another extraordinary La Liga season — one that ended with Barcelona retaining their title and a host of individual honours being distributed. Here is the full rundown of the 2025-26 end-of-season awards.
PICHICHI TROPHY — KYLIAN MBAPPE (25 GOALS)
Kylian Mbappe retains the Pichichi Trophy as La Liga's top scorer for a second successive season, finishing the campaign with 25 goals in 34 appearances. The Frenchman won the award last season with 31 goals — one of the most prolific debut seasons the league has ever seen. This term was more turbulent. A chaotic dressing room, fan petitions demanding his sale, and a hamstring injury that ended his campaign in late April all clouded what was still a remarkable individual return. Mbappe also won back-to-back Pichichi awards as the first Real Madrid player to do so in over a decade. Vedat Muriqi of Mallorca pushed him hardest — the Kosovan striker scored 23 goals, which is more than Mbappe scored from open play, and has been one of the stories of the season. Muriqi ultimately missed out by two goals.
ZAMORA TROPHY — JOAN GARCIA (0.70 GOALS PER MATCH)
Joan Garcia wins the Zamora Trophy as La Liga's best goalkeeper in his first full season as Barcelona's number one — a remarkable achievement for a 23-year-old who only became first choice when Marc ter Stegen suffered a serious knee injury in preseason. Garcia conceded just 0.70 goals per match across the campaign, the best ratio in the division. He made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the league and was instrumental in Barcelona keeping 17 clean sheets. His performances have made him one of the most coveted young goalkeepers in Europe. He is also a key part of Spain's World Cup squad this summer.
BEST PLAYER — LAMINE YAMAL
Despite missing the final six weeks of the season with a Grade 2 hamstring tear, Lamine Yamal is the consensus pick as La Liga's best player of 2025-26. ESPN's Graham Hunter described it as "not even close — he's the best player in Spain by a distance." Yamal finished with 16 La Liga goals and 13 assists before his injury in the 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on April 22. He was triple-marked in most matches, played through a groin problem for large parts of the campaign, and still produced moments of genius that no other player in Spain could match. At 18 years old, he is the best player in the world's most competitive league.
BEST COACH — HANSI FLICK
Hansi Flick retains his status as the best coach in Spain after guiding Barcelona to back-to-back La Liga titles. Having won a domestic treble in his debut season, he retained the league with a squad ravaged by injuries to Yamal, Raphinha, Christensen, Bernal and others for large parts of the campaign. His ability to rotate, develop young players and maintain intensity across a full season makes him the standout managerial performance of the division.
