Feyenoord had four shots at the Camp Nou. Barcelona had twenty four, and the night belonged to a nineteen year old who scored one of the five and made two more.
Lamine Yamal's fingerprints on three goals
Raphinha opened it on 3, left footed from the centre of the box, put in by Yamal. Yamal scored the fourth himself on 77, a left footed free kick into the bottom right corner. Eight minutes later he crossed for Gabriel Jesus to head in the fifth.
One goal, two assists, and Barcelona were three up before he had scored any of it.
Adeyemi justified the change
Karim Adeyemi came in for Anthony Gordon and scored on 22, right footed from outside the box into the top right corner, from João Cancelo's pass. It was his first Champions League start for the club and Cancelo's first start of the season.
Raphinha made it three on 57, left footed again, this time from a Pedri through ball. That was Raphinha's second and Pedri's contribution to a night he left after 63 minutes.
Seventy one per cent, and what Feyenoord did with the rest
Barcelona had 71.6 per cent of the ball and completed 746 passes to Feyenoord's 255. Feyenoord were caught offside eight times, made 26 tackles to Barcelona's 17, and got four shots away all night.
Sem Steijn scored one of them, on 82, from the left of the six yard box after Gonçalo Borges crossed. It came two minutes after he came on, in a match already four goals gone.
The bench got twenty seven minutes and a goal
Marc Bernal and Gordon came on together on 63, Fermín López for Raphinha on 71, then Gabriel Jesus and Gavi on 83. Jesus scored two minutes after arriving, his first in the Champions League for Barcelona.
Five substitutions, all of them made while leading by three or more, and the last one still ended in a goal. That is the depth Hansi Flick did not have last season.
